2011 in Review: February

The second month of 2011 was intentionally rather quiet. Cold and snowy, we did our best to enjoy what Minnesota has to offer (Mark got in some cross country skiing). Mark also was ramping up to start working outside of our house for Verizon business and we began looking for childcare options for Charlie.

Charlie was starting to really walk like a champ and use sign language to talk with us. Most of his conversation revolved around food: more, all done, food, drink. :) His favorite toy was a vacuum that he brought home from his Beauchamp cousin's house!

We also slowly started letting people know:

2011 in Review: January

Shortly after Christmas (and technically 12/2010) we learned we were expecting our 2nd child. We were excited, overwhelmed, scared, thrilled. We spent a lot of time discussing what might be as well as our happiness that our children would be close in age and able to grow up together.

Charlie celebrated his 1st birthday with some new teeth and a little cold! We had his favorite Eden Pizza for his birthday dinner and an awesome (free) birthday cake from Byerly's. The cake was probably our first real indulgence in sugar for Charlie. He enjoyed it but didn't get too crazy! It was a low key evening with the three of us along with our nanny, Kirsten.

We had another celebration in mid-January: Mark's parents anniversary! We flew down and spent 5 days with family in Texas. It was a wonderful time and a warm up from the brutal Minnesota winter we were experiencing!

And something even more surprising than all we'd experienced so far to start the year, Mark noticed a job opening with Verizon business. It looked like a similar role that he had when we worked with Sprint so he applied. When he told me about it on my arrival home from work I said, "they're gonna call you tomorrow because you are perfect!" And, my prediction came true! Mark spent the next couple of weeks doing interviews and was quickly offered the position.

Tidying Up a Bit

I know everyone is saying it but where has 2011 gone? Our year has flown by and it is that time when "we" sit back and remember what the previous 12 months has brought our way. My hope is to catch up with a month by month highlight reel. Here's a little something to occupy those of you waiting at your computer!
